Earthbath All Natural Shampoo

This is the first shampoo I bought for my first peke. All ingredients are natural, 100% biodegradable and extra gentle. His skin is very sensitive. He gets redness so easily so I wanted an extra gentle shampoo. Pekingese can be shampooed as needed however I learned the hard way that “as needed” isn’t the best. He lost a lot of his double coat. “As needed” can be done for paws and belly. For the coat, daily brushing is the best, and shampoo once every two months or so is more than enough.

Pekingese Coat Care

The Pekingese should have a long, flowing, dense standoff coat. The undercoat should be thick. The undercoat should be coarse, yet soft to the touch. The hair around the neck should form a mane. The hair should also be straight and never curly. Long feathering is found on the forelegs and thighs, as well as the ears and tail.

Good grooming is a must for the Pekingese. Bathing should be done once or twice a month. The Peke is a double coated breed and should be brushed on a daily basis to keep mats from forming. Trimming should be done around the pads of the feet so that the feet can touch the floor without being impeded. A spray bottle of grooming spray or distilled water should be kept handy so that the coat can be lightly misted .This will help to cut down on the formation of mats and also help keep the coat healthy. A damp cloth should be used to wipe away excess dirt and moisture around the eyes and wrinkles. Nails should be trimmed at least every two to three weeks.

Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food

After we’ve done some research about dog food, we chose to feed our puppy Taste of the Wild. The cheapest price we found on Amazon for 5lb bag was $10.99. Although we expected to spend around $12.99 to $14.99 for the same ones at local stores, Passionate Pet was selling it $10.99! It was the same price as Amazon, we only have to pay a dollar for tax, but no shipping cost instead. Since this is dry food, and we don’t want to buy a large bag to save shipping cost and to store them at home, I think we will always buy dog food from Passionate Pet.
