As summer is approaching I decided to buy a good pair of regular and thinning shears . These dogs have so much coat volume it is so easy for them to be too hot. So for their comfort I trimmed their coats. Most pekingese owners shave their peke down for summer.
I didn’t want to shave them at all as I wanted to keep most length and really cut down the volume ( a shaved peke isn’t a peke anymore to my opinion)
I bought these shears, it came with thinning shears, and two size regular shears. The price tag was reasonable , $199 , made in Japan.
I started with D’Artagnan as he is the fluffiest.

This was my first time cutting their coat. Overall I am satisfied with the result. He let me cut his hair and didn’t move . I will do this trim for every summer.
Aramis ‘s before after effect is less as he doesn’t have much volume.
But this trim refresh the coat to grow back healthy.
