coat not growing

When I received Aramis , his coat was shiny, fluffy and long for a puppy. When I started to care his coat, it went downhill. The coat became short, dull and stopped growing. I tried many different shampoos and products but nothing worked so far.On the opposite side D’Artagnan’s coat doesnt need much care to grow, it grows by itself, and is fluffy. I underestimated how a dog’s coat can be so different from one animal to the other.

I decided to ask a skin professional . She recommended Mineral H Shampoo and Banana Conditioner with Argan Oil and Vitamina H lotion added into the conditioner.
I was told to do these treatments weekly.

Step 1

Mix mineral shampoo 1:3 with warm water. Wet the coat and shampoo the dog.

rinse until water runs clear

Step 2

mix banana conditioner with 9 drops of argan oil and 9 drops of vitamina H lotion. Add warm water ( 1:3 )

massage the dog with the mixture and leave it for 5 minutes.

Rinse until water runs clear.

Step 3

Pad the dog with a towel and dry the coat with a dog dryer. Keep brushing while drying in the direction of hair growth. ( I use the B-Air Dryers Bear Power 2 High Velocity Dryer )

Week one

I am pleased with the result even though this was the first bathing with this special treatment.
The coat is very well moisturized, very sleek, and not static.

He had some dead skin, after this first treatment the skin was moisturized deeply and this dead skin detached. I simply removed it with a gentle regular brushing.

Week 2

After the second bath, the coat is still deeply moisturized. Volume is starting to grow, although not very visible, it is slowly  growing . I am pleased with the results and can’t wait to see the growth after a couple of months.

Paw licking

My 2 pups were licking their paws quite often. I checked them and there was nothing that I could see .
During a check up to the vet I asked if anything was on the skin. After examination all paws were fine and normal. He said it could be allergies to the floor cleaner product since it contains chemicals.
I decided to switch from my regular cleaner to white vinegar mixed with warm water.(1:3)
It’s been 6 months and both of the pekes aren’t licking their paws anymore.
For their comfort and health I will keep using the vinegar mix.

nail

They had a fight and D’Artagnan lost a nail. The nail literally pooped out. It didn’t really bleed. I cleaned and disinfected the quick. He is wearing a boot when we go out to prevent infection. It will take several weeks for the nail to grow back.

I bought medium size from Pawz. He walks very well with it. It took him couple days to get use to it.
I had previously buy the xsmall recommended on the back of the package for pekingese but it is way too small.
The medium is good as he has a lot of coat on his paws.
